The Arizona Cardinals are reportedly setting up an interview with Seattle Seahawks offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell for their vacant head coach position, according to the Associated Press.
Bevell, 43, grew up in Scottsdale, AZ and attended Chaparral High School. He has been the offensive coordinator for the Seahawks since 2011. Prior to that, Bevell was the offensive coordinator for the Minnesota Vikings from 2006 to 2010. He became a professional coach in 2000 as an offensive assistant with the Green Bay Packers and was promoted to quarterbacks coach of the Packers three years later.
Bevell has been instrumental in the development of Seattle rookie quarterback Russell Wilson.
The Red Birds have interviewed defensive coordinator Ray Horton, Bengals offensive coordinator Jay Gruden, Steelers offensive coordinator Todd Haley and former Denver Broncos offensive coordinator Mike McCoy for their head coaching post. McCoy was scheduled for a second interview with Arizona but withdrew before being named the new head coach of the San Diego Chargers yesterday.
